Prerequisites
There are no rigid prerequisites for this course – only a strong interest in meditation practice and wanting to teach it.
The course structure is such that you will learn how to accurately communicate the techniques. You do not have to be a Buddhist, and no specific meditation attainments are needed – although the more experience you have the more you will be able to offer your students.
How do I apply?
Simply call us on 01698 542677 or send us a message and we’ll guide you through the registration process. You will need to secure your place on Module 1-1 with a £100 deposit.

Can you really start teaching meditation after only a week?
Yyou can learn to accurately pass on the teachings and practices in that time. Like learning to drive a car, with intensive study you can pass your test quite quickly. Many people feel, though, that it’s only once you’ve passed your test that you really learn to drive. Plan on your development as a meditation teacher taking the rest of your life and being grounded in your own practice.
Module 1 includes a compulsory 2-day follow-up course to be attended at least one year (and no more than three years) after your initial teacher training. This provides further background material to the practices you will have learnt in the first week, and an opportunity to share and deepen your understanding of the material after you’ve had a chance to teach it.
In the intervening time (between module 1-1 and 1-2) you will be able to run courses as a “student teacher”. You will be working on your qualification materials (see below) with the support of your mentor, you will be working on your self-practice, and building up the resources you need to launch your new business (writing a website, making contacts, investigating venues and groups to teach to).
The path is actually not a trudge but a dance. And this dance is extraordinarily meaningful.
Can I teach in the time between modules 1-1 and 1-2?
In the year(s) between module 1-1 and 1-2 you will be able to run courses as a “student teacher”. You will be working on your qualification materials (which includes teaching at least one 8-week course; for more see below) with the support of your mentor. You will also be working on your self-practice, and building up the resources you need to launch your new business (e.g. creating a website, making contacts, investigating venues and groups to teach to).
What are the benefits of completing module 1 and officially qualifying?
You will obtain a Zenways Mindfulness and Meditation 100hr teaching certificate. If you wish to teach, for example, to businesses or for an agency, they will almost certainly require you to submit a copy of your full certificate.
How to qualify
Firstly you need to attend the whole of module 1-1. You will then receive a 100% attendance certificate and be able to teach as a ‘student teacher’.
You will then have up to the time when you attend module 1-2 to:
- Submit a satisfactory essay on the course material
- Practice the 8-week meditation and mindfulness programme for Health & Wellbeing supplied with the course and submit a practice diary
- Teach the mindfulness course to one or more student(s), supply video recordings of you teaching each session, a teaching diary for each session, and student feedback form(s).
You must then attend 100% of module 1-2 (the two-day follow-up course) a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years later. You will then receive a module 1 teaching certificate.
The qualification procedure for module 2 follows a similar structure.
