Zen and the Ways – Fifteen years of development
Event Navigation

As we approach Zenways’ fifteenth anniversary we’re taking a day to celebrate the inspiring and creative ways that Zenways people are discovering and manifesting their way – their life-path informed by their practice.
Presentations and talks
On Sunday 19th June we plan to have a series of invited presentations and activities over the day around the theme: ‘In what way do you embody Zen in your own life?’ Topics will include those related to work, creativity, money, health and recovery. As a Zenways person you’re very welcome to come and join us live at the London Dojo and, of course, online. Things will be very informal. We’ll have a bring-and-share picnic in the park at lunchtime (or indoors if the weather is bad). You’re very welcome to join with us for any part of the day or for the whole event. All the presentations will be participatory.
Visual contributions
In addition, sangha member Dainei will be curating a visual presentation of artworks submitted from the community celebrating the diversity of our Zen ways. Artworks won’t specifically be about the perceived aesthetics of Zen, but more about how can we express our authentic Zen, in our own way, in our own daily life, and share how we do it. Doing, being, expressing, connecting with whatever activities, jobs, projects, learnings, whatever, in our lives. So I might make a picture of me banging my drum on the moor, another one of me in my studio, another one of me at the computer and make a collage. Or just one picture with many arms, or just a simple photo with my tools, or a handwritten poem with a wonky brush… see what the creative spirit brings!
Often sharing is the most challenging thing, so don’t be daunted, there is no wrong or right. Just imagine a large wall covered with intriguing and interesting individuality. The less perfect the better basically. It’s going to be great!
Attending
We’d love to see you in-person at the dojo in Camberwell. If you want to come, just come. We’re not doing tickets. The day will start at 10am.
If you’d like to join online, the link will be our usual Sunday evening zazen zoom link. If you’d like a reminder of the zoom link just get in touch.
There will be no cost for attending, but we suggest a donation of around £30.
Please come and get involved in whichever way inspires you.
