Guided Mu Chanting Day

Mu chanting is a powerful practice taught by 20th century Japanese Zen Master Nantembo. Daizan has prevously introduced and described Nantembo’s way of practice on our download Zen Power in Practice: The Teachings of Nantembo Roshi. On this page you can also hear the experiences of a few Zenways students who have chanted Mu over longer periods.

This day, organised by sangha member Jason Christopher, will be a good opportunity to get a taste of what this energising practice can do for you.

After an introduction to Nantembo-style Mu chanting by Jason and some informal practice, we will embark on a day of chanting together. We will follow the usual 25min sitting periods interspersed by walking meditation.
Please bring a cold vegetarian lunch to share.

Suitable for those who have experience of silent meditative practice lasting a whole day, or for those who have attended any of the previous Mu chanting sessions at the Zenways dojo.If you are interested but do not have this experience please come to one of the 2-hour sessions listed below.

Please contact Jason Christopher on to secure a place.

A donation to Zenways of £30 is recommended. However any donation according to your financial circumstances is welcome.
